Joanne Icabone Murray  published a cookbook:

Creative Cuisine Collection by Giovannina Murray    aka Joan N. Murray

ISBN 978-1-4343-0788-0-90000

It is available through Authorhouse.com.  The Chieftain carried an article by Mary Jean Porter about Joan and the book.

"I'm first generation American," Murray, says, "When I was growing up, I learned to cook on a coal stove."

Murray says her cookbook which she compiled in the later 1980s but only recently self-published, includes family recipes, recipes from the different cultures and ethnic groups of Bessemer; recipes "from a generation that may not be around anymore".   How to make lard, how to make spaghetti and pizza by hand, how to make potica".

Our blogs

Newer blog. central1956.blogspot.com. This blog can be  used for planning and discussing informal events. (Note these do not have to be in Pueblo. Lots of us live in California, for example. Some of us live on the east coast.)
Older blog.  wildcats56.blogspot.com.

(Anyone may comment at this blog, but only some can initiate a conversation. It is a long story, but the ADMIN privileges were lost when Google made the transition to the new style.)

INSTRUCTIONS (ask questions or tell me where these need to be clarified).
To make using the blogs as easy as possible, just click on the blog address to read or use the email addresses (right click will copy the address) to send a new post to either blog.

1)  Blog for planning or discussing events. To read the blog type central1956.blogspot.com  in your browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla FIrefox, or whatever you use.) or just click on the underlined portion and go. Click on comments to add to a discussion or start a new post. Follow the directions. You may submit anonymously, but since this is our class if you do that, please put your name in the comment itself. I will be deleting postings that appear to come from outside our class.

A really easy way to start a new post on the blog is to simply send an email to mrpratto.central1956@blogspot.com (my name only appears because I set up the blog). If you attach a picture to your email message, it will appear on the blog. I tested that with the old blog.

2) For those more interested in blogs, there are other options.

3) Our old blog still exists, but during Google's changeover of blogs I lost the ADMIN rights so I can't invite anyone else etc. The pictures are still there. To read the blog enter wildcats56.blogspot.com in your browser or click.. You may send email to mrpratto.wildcats56@blogspot.com to add information to the blog.
